Game Boy CR1616 Save Battery

Popped this into my old Pokémon Crystal cartridge and the save file finally holds after years of frustration. It’s a perfect fit for the Game Boy slot and only took a minute to swap out.

This CR1616 battery saved my Silver version from getting erased mid-game. It clicked right into the cartridge slot without any fuss, and I’m glad the save file is actually holding after a week of off and on play. Exactly what I needed.

My old Gold version kept wiping my progress every time I powered it off, so I swapped in this CR1616 and it’s held my save for two weeks straight now. Soldering it in took about ten minutes, and the voltage reads perfectly for both my GBC and GBA carts.
