My Game Boy finally holds saves again after swapping in the Nichicon cap — the voltage rating being higher was no issue, just matched the capacitance and it worked perfectly.

Had an original Game Boy that wouldn't hold a charge, and this Nichicon cap got it booting up perfectly again. Installed it in under ten minutes and the voltage rating being a little higher didn't cause any issues. It's a relief to have the handheld working like it did back in the day.

Swapping out the original capacitor on my DMG was straightforward—the Panasonic cap fit perfectly in the same spot. Was worried about matching the capacitance, but the instructions made it simple. Battery life seems a bit more consistent now, which is nice for a 30-year-old console.
